Former CM lashes out at TMC chief Mamata Banerjee, ‘BJP was not even in West Bengal, you…’

Bhupesh Baghel News: Senior Congress leader and former Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel took a dig at Mamata Banerjee and said that you yourself had said about BJP that they are our natural friends.

Congress leader Bhupesh Baghel has responded to Trinamool Congress (TMC) chief Mamata Banerjee’s call for opposition unity following the formation of the BJP government in West Bengal. He sarcastically remarked, “You’re waking up only after everything has gotten out of hand. You’re the one who took the BJP to Kolkata.” Baghel clearly believes that Mamata Banerjee realized the importance of other anti-BJP forces only after facing a crushing defeat in Bengal.

Congress leader Bhupesh Baghel said, “She understood this very quickly. The BJP wasn’t even there. You were the one who took the BJP to Kolkata in Bengal. You yourself said about the BJP that they are our natural allies. Today, when everything has slipped out of your hands, you are waking up.”

What appeal did Mamata Banerjee make to political parties?
Former West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee appealed to like-minded parties across the country to unite to stop the BJP. On May 9, Mamata Banerjee said, “Echoes of post-election violence are being heard everywhere in the state. I call on all anti-BJP forces, all student and youth organizations, and all non-governmental organizations to unite. We want to form a united front against the BJP.”

On this occasion, he also made it clear that even the Left Front led by CPI(M), his once arch political rival, is welcome in this united front being formed in West Bengal against the BJP.

TMC reduced to 80 seats in Bengal
It should be noted that the TMC suffered a major defeat in the West Bengal Assembly elections. The TMC was reduced to 80 seats in the 294-seat assembly. The BJP won 207 seats, securing a more than two-thirds majority in the assembly, ending the TMC’s 15-year rule. Mamata Banerjee herself lost the Bhawanipur seat to BJP’s Suvendu Adhikari by over 15,000 votes. Suvendu Adhikari has now become the Chief Minister. He was sworn in on May
