From Mosques to Madrasas, BJP to Launch Outreach Blitz Among Minorities in UP, Showcasing ‘Operation Sindoor’

In a major political push, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to roll out an aggressive minority outreach program in Uttar Pradesh, targeting places of worship and learning—from mosques and madrasas to churches and gurudwaras. The campaign will highlight the Modi government’s initiatives for minorities, including the controversial Operation Sindoor and central welfare schemes.

BJP’s Minority Cell to Launch Ground-Level Campaign

According to UP BJP Minority Cell President Kunwar Basit Ali, the party will hold meetings and awareness events outside key religious and community centers across the state. The aim is to directly engage with minority communities and communicate the government’s achievements over the last 11 years.

Starting Wednesday, BJP workers will begin distributing pocket-sized copies of the Indian Constitution to promote awareness of fundamental rights and duties among minority citizens.

Special Event Series: 'Message of Minorities, Muslims with Modi'

To further mark PM Modi’s 11 years in office, a series of conferences titled ‘Message of Minorities, Muslims with Modi’ will be held in major cities of UP. The first of these is scheduled for June 12 at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Convention Centre in Lucknow.

“These events will highlight how Modi's policies have uplifted minorities, especially Muslims, through inclusive welfare schemes,” said Basit Ali.

'Desh ka Paigam, Pratibha ko Samman': Honouring Madrasa Toppers

In a unique initiative to recognize academic excellence, BJP’s Minority Cell will also launch a program called ‘Desh ka Paigam, Pratibha ko Samman’, under which madrasa students who perform well will be felicitated. The families of those from the minority community who have been martyred in national service will also be honored.

Yoga Day in 403 Madrasas: Soft Cultural Push

On June 21, International Yoga Day, the party will organize yoga sessions in 403 madrasas across the state—a move seen as blending cultural outreach with health and awareness campaigns.

Modi vs Manmohan: A Contrast in Vision

Basit Ali drew a sharp contrast between former PM Manmohan Singh’s infamous remark that “Muslims have the first right to resources” and Modi’s stated view that “the poor” come first, irrespective of religion.

“The Sachar Committee exposed the poverty in the Muslim community, but previous governments ignored it. Under Modi, 20% of the population (Muslims) account for nearly 40% of welfare beneficiaries,” he claimed.

Operation Sindoor: The Political Undercurrent

While the BJP has not formally detailed what Operation Sindoor entails, it is being promoted as a major success in outreach and inclusion. The party appears keen to rebrand its image among minorities ahead of the 2027 UP Assembly elections.

Conclusion: BJP’s Minority Strategy Enters Phase Two

From constitutional outreach and academic rewards to cultural integration and religious engagement, the BJP’s Minority Cell is rolling out a multi-pronged campaign. With eyes on long-term electoral gains, the party is hoping this new strategy will help bridge trust gaps and reshape political narratives among UP’s 20% minority population.
