Every parent wishes to give good education and values to their children so that they become good human beings. In such a situation, today we are going to tell you some such teachings of the Gita which you must teach your child. In this shloka, it is told how a person can make both his character and future good.
Lord Krishna gave the teachings of Gita to Arjun on the battlefield of Mahabharata, which are included in the best knowledge. You can guess this from the fact that the fame of Shrimadbhagvat Gita has spread not only in India but also abroad. In such a situation, you can explain the meaning of some of its verses to your children, which will prove beneficial for them.
Precious verses of Gita
1. कर्मण्येवाधिकारस्ते मा फलेषु कदाचन।
मा कर्मफलहेतुर्भूर्मा ते सङ्गोऽस्त्वकर्मणि॥
Karmanyevadhikaraste ma phaleshu kadachan.
Maa Karmaphalheturbhurma te Sangostvakarmani.
In this shloka, Lord Krishna tells Arjuna that you have the right only on your deeds, not on the fruits of your deeds, so a person should keep doing his deeds without any desire for the fruit. Children have this habit that if they do any work, they eagerly wait for its result. In such a situation, if they do not get the desired result, they also become sad. In such a situation, this shloka must be taught to your children.
2. ध्यायतो विषयान्पुंसः सङ्गस्तेषूपजायते।
सङ्गात्संजायते कामः कामात्क्रोधोऽभिजायते॥
Dhyayato vishayan punsah sangasteshoopajayate.
Sangatsanjayate kamaah kamatkrodhobhijayate.
In this shloka, it is said that we develop attachment to the subject matter we keep thinking about. This gives rise to a desire to obtain that object and anger arises when it is not fulfilled. Therefore, man should stay away from excessive attachment to anything.
This habit is especially seen in children that they quickly start getting attached to something and also get sad if their wish is not fulfilled. In such a situation, this shloka can be helpful for them.
