The Uttar Pradesh government has now approved the Lokmata Ahilyabai Matrishakti Yojana, a scheme for women. Under this scheme, elderly women will be provided free lifetime travel on state transport corporation buses.
According to reports, the Yogi government's Lokmata Ahilyabai Matrishakti Yojana will provide women over the age of 60 with lifetime free travel on all UP State Transport Corporation buses. To avail the scheme, women will need to present their Aadhaar card or voter ID with a local address. Women must carry their Aadhaar or voter ID cards with them while traveling on buses.
