A major sex racket operating from the premises of Katihar Sadar Hospital in Bihar has been exposed, sending shockwaves through the district. The scandal came to light after a vigilant security guard caught two women red-handed late at night, leading to a startling revelation of how a government hospital was being misused as a base for prostitution.
Hospital Turned Into a Brothel Base
During interrogation, the two arrested women admitted to being sex workers, revealing that they operated across various areas in Katihar but used the Sadar Hospital as a safe hideout. Shockingly, one of the women was employed at the hospital, further raising questions about possible insider involvement.
“They treated the hospital like their headquarters,” said Security Guard Naveen Kumar Singh, who had been receiving tips about suspicious activities in the hospital for some time.
From Patients to Prostitution: Startling Use of Hospital Grounds
Investigations suggest the women visited up to 3-4 clients a night, charging between ₹500 to ₹2,000 per appointment. By posing as patients or hospital staff, they avoided suspicion while allegedly using hospital quarters or coordinating from within the premises.
Authorities now suspect that some hospital staff may have facilitated the operation, either knowingly or through negligence. This angle is under police scrutiny.
Ongoing Police Investigation
Both women are currently in police custody as interrogations continue. Investigators are probing:
-
Whether hospital employees helped coordinate the racket
-
How long the operation had been active
-
Whether customers were also being brought into the hospital itself
-
The extent of the network and the number of people involved
Public Outrage and Official Silence
The revelation has sparked outrage across Katihar. Locals are demanding strict action and a full audit of hospital operations, especially at night. Yet, no official statement has been issued by hospital authorities so far.
This disturbing incident raises serious concerns about the misuse of public health infrastructure, and how lack of oversight allowed a sex racket to flourish within hospital walls — a place meant for healing, not crime.
