Investigation has revealed that the woman was having an affair with her lover Irfan and she had fled with her lover taking advantage of her husband being abroad. The deceased has been identified as Shahnaz Bano, who was the wife of Maqbool Ahmed, a resident of Jagdish village of Antu police station area. Maqbool works in Saudi Arabia, while Shahnaz lived at home with her father-in-law.

Death during abortion, then conspiracy to hide the body

The Superintendent of Police, while revealing the case in a press conference, said that both Shahnaz and Irfan had planned to get an abortion done. They reached Sanjeevani Hospital in Lalganj, where the woman died due to excessive bleeding during the abortion. Panicked, Irfan and Dr. Nafees, who was present in the hospital, quietly put the woman's body on a bike and threw it in a wheat field in Gautampur ward and fled.

Case of unintentional murder, both the accused sent to jail

The police took swift action in this entire case and registered a case under culpable homicide not amounting to murder (IPC 304) and arrested the lover Irfan and Dr. Nafees and sent them to jail. According to the police, the lover was trying to hide his act, but after the truth has come out, he will now have to face the law.

Hospital and ultrasound center sealed, case filed against doctors

After the incident, the district administration and health department also became active. The team of SDM Lalganj and Deputy CMO Dr. Rajesh Kumar reached the spot and immediately sealed Sanjeevani Nursing Home. Also, action was taken against Kalpana Ultrasound Center on the charge of conducting illegal abortion. A case has also been registered against Dr. Hasnain in Lalganj police station.
