In 2025, a disturbing trend has emerged where wives, rather than husbands, have been involved in the murder of their spouses. One of the latest shocking cases is that of Raja Raghuvanshi from Indore.
Raja had married Sonam, and the couple went to Meghalaya for their honeymoon. However, tragedy struck when Raja’s body was found in a deep gorge near Veisawdong waterfall on June 2. Sonam was missing from the crime scene and was later found in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, nine days after the incident.
The Accusations
According to Meghalaya Police, Sonam conspired with her lover, Raj Kushwaha, to murder Raja. So far, four accused, including Sonam, have been arrested in connection with the case.
A Growing Pattern
This case recalls other recent incidents across India where wives have been implicated in the murder of their husbands, including:
-
The Saurabh murder case in Meerut
-
The Deepak Kumar murder case in Bijnor
The Raja Raghuvanshi case highlights the complex and often tragic dynamics in relationships today, marking a notable shift in the pattern of domestic crimes in 2025.
