The Indian women's cricket team met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi today after winning the World Cup. Team India won the World Cup trophy for the first time in cricket history.
The Women's World Cup-winning Indian cricket team is meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi today. The meeting took place at the Prime Minister's residence, 7 Lok Kalyan Marg, in New Delhi. Team captain Harmanpreet Kaur and her team members met with the Prime Minister to celebrate their historic victory. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) received a formal invitation from the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) two days ago for this meeting.
Team India registered a historic victory
The historic victory took place on Sunday in Navi Mumbai, where the Harmanpreet Kaur-led Indian team defeated South Africa in the final to win their first World Cup title. The Women in Blue produced a stellar performance at the Dr. D.Y. Patil Stadium to achieve this unprecedented honor.
Pratika Rawal arrived in a wheelchair to meet him.
During this meeting, the players from the team that led India to victory in the World Cup met with the Prime Minister. Notably, player Pratik Rawal also joined the meeting. Pratik had to withdraw from the tournament just before the semi-finals due to ankle and knee injuries. She arrived to meet the Prime Minister in a wheelchair.

This is India's first Women's World Cup title. Previously, the Indian team had reached the final four times but failed to win. They lost to Australia and England in the 2005 and 2017 ODI World Cup finals, respectively. Australia also defeated them in the 2020 T20 World Cup final. This victory is a major triumph over all these previous defeats.

Team photos surfaced
Pictures of the World Cup-winning Indian women's cricket team arriving at the Prime Minister's residence also surfaced. The team was also photographed as they left their hotel for the Prime Minister's residence. A day after arriving in Delhi, India's World Cup-winning women's cricket team left their hotel to meet the Prime Minister. The players were dressed in formal attire. This meeting is a significant moment for Indian women's cricket, one that will inspire young girls across the country.
