IPL 2026: Angkrish Raghuvanshi Fined After On-Field Outburst

Young Kolkata Knight Riders batter Angkrish Raghuvanshi has been penalized following his visible frustration during a match against Lucknow Super Giants in Indian Premier League 2026.

What Happened?

Raghuvanshi was dismissed for “obstructing the field,” a decision that sparked debate among fans. Unhappy with the call, he reacted in anger—first hitting the ball toward the boundary rope and later throwing his helmet in the dugout. His actions did not go down well with the match referee.

The Punishment

He has been found guilty of a Level 1 offence under the IPL Code of Conduct. As a result:

  • 20% of his match fee has been fined
  • 1 demerit point has been added to his record

Raghuvanshi scored 9 runs off 8 balls in that match before the controversial dismissal.

Not the Only One

He becomes the fifth non-captain player to be penalized this season. Others who have faced similar action include:

  • Nitish Rana
  • Tim David
  • Abhishek Sharma
  • Nandre Burger

Some of these players were fined up to 25% of their match fees, along with demerit points for breaching the code.
