A major accident has occurred at the Bargi Dam in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. A cruise ship sank, shocking everyone. A cruise ship carrying tourists suddenly sank amid strong winds and high waves in the backwaters of the Narmada River. Nine bodies have been recovered so far, while 23 others have been rescued. This tragic accident has left many families in deep shock.

According to media reports, Pradeep Kumar, a resident of Delhi, somehow survived the accident, but his wife and four-year-old son are still missing. While narrating the horrific story of the accident, Pradeep made serious allegations against the cruise management. He said that the safety arrangements on the cruise were nominal. Two crew members were present, but when the situation worsened, they left the passengers to fend for themselves. According to Pradeep, no one was even given a life jacket on time. The tourists themselves put on life jackets for each other. He said that when strong waves started rising, the people present on the shore also asked the driver to dock the cruise. But the driver insisted on going back to the starting point.
Following the accident, there was widespread panic around Bargi Dam. Locals and rescue teams immediately began relief operations. Nine bodies have been recovered so far. Following the incident, the Madhya Pradesh government immediately initiated relief and rescue operations. Cabinet Minister Rakesh Singh and Minister Dharmendra Lodhi remained at the scene throughout the night, monitoring the rescue operation.

What caused the accident?
Initial investigations have revealed that at the time of the accident, the weather in the Narmada River backwaters suddenly deteriorated. Strong winds began blowing and high waves began to rise in the water. Eyewitnesses say the cruise ship was already unstable. Despite this, the pilot did not immediately dock it.
