Amitabh Bachchan, often regarded as the biggest star in Bollywood, continues to charm audiences even after six decades in the film industry. With countless iconic performances in films like Zanjeer, Don, Coolie, Agneepath, Sholay, Deewar, Baghban, Sarkar, and many more, fans have their own list of favorites. But when it comes to veteran writer Javed Akhtar, his choices stand apart from the usual picks. During his appearance on Kaun Banega Crorepati, Akhtar revealed which Amitabh Bachchan films he considers the actor’s best.

According to Javed Akhtar, Amitabh Bachchan delivered one of his most extraordinary performances in Shakti, where he shared the screen with Dilip Kumar, who played his father.

Akhtar explained that Bachchan’s brilliance in the film came from the way he completely immersed himself in the character, never allowing his superstar persona to overshadow the role. He also praised Amitabh’s work in the film Mili, calling it one of the finest performances of his career. In Mili, Bachchan portrayed a lonely man battling alcoholism, and Akhtar was deeply impressed by the emotional depth he brought to the role.
