Kinetic DX Plus Gets a Bigger Battery and 132 km Range: What Makes the New EV Scooter Different?

Kinetic has expanded its DX electric scooter lineup with a new DX Plus 3.1 kWh variant, aimed at riders who want more range and fewer charging stops.
The biggest change is right in the battery pack. The new model gets a 3.1 kWh battery, compared with the 2.6 kWh unit available in the existing DX Plus. According to the company's IDC-tested figures, the new scooter can deliver a claimed range of up to 132 km on a full charge.
The Kinetic DX range starts at ₹1.18 lakh (ex-showroom), while the new DX Plus 3.1 kWh sits at the top of the lineup.
Bigger battery, more claimed range
The new DX Plus 3.1 kWh will be sold alongside the existing DX Plus 2.6 kWh. The standard DX continues with the smaller battery.
The larger battery gives the new model a claimed IDC range of 132 km, which is 27 km more than the 105 km claimed range of the DX Plus 2.6 kWh.

Don't expect 132 km in every situation
The 132 km figure is an IDC-tested claimed range, rather than a guarantee of how far the scooter will travel in everyday conditions.

The DX Plus 3.1 kWh gets a revised motor producing 3.8 kW of peak power. By comparison, the DX Plus 2.6 kWh produces 4.78 kW of peak power.
So, while the new scooter has a larger battery and greater claimed range, it isn't necessarily the better choice for riders who prioritise outright performance.
The 2.6 kWh model's higher peak power could make it more appealing to buyers looking for stronger acceleration.

The new DX Plus 3.1 kWh comes with two riding modes:

Interestingly, it doesn't get the Turbo mode offered on the standard DX and DX Plus 2.6 kWh.

Despite the focus on range, the new DX Plus 3.1 kWh doesn't compromise much on features.
The scooter gets a metal body, LED lighting and an 8.8-inch LCD instrument display. It also offers 37 litres of under-seat storage, giving riders plenty of space for everyday items.

The Kinetic DX Plus 3.1 kWh is clearly aimed at a specific type of buyer.
If your priority is longer range and fewer charging stops, the larger battery and 132 km claimed IDC range make the new model worth considering.
However, if you care more about quick acceleration and higher peak power, the DX Plus 2.6 kWh could be the more interesting option.
In short, Kinetic's new variant isn't simply a more powerful version of the DX Plus. It takes a different approach—more battery and more range, but less peak power. For daily commuters who value convenience over outright performance, that could be a worthwhile trade-off.
