Like Akshaye Khanna, his two brothers failed to become Bollywood stars; one was mentored by Sanjay Leela Bhansali

Bollywood often features sibling and brother-brother duos, but most of the time, only one achieves fame. Aditya Dhar's acclaimed performance in "Dhurandhar" ...read more

Bollywood boasts numerous brother-sister pairs. One is successful, while the other has struggled to make a mark. It's hard to pin down the siblings of some major superstars, and yet they have disappeared from the scene. Akshay Khanna's name is also included in this list of brothers, one of whom found success, while the other failed in his own attempt.

Veteran actor Vinod Khanna has three sons: two from his first wife, Geetanjali, and a son and a daughter from his second wife, Kavita Khanna. While "Dharandhar" actor Akshaye Khanna has cemented his place in Bollywood since the 90s, playing one brilliant role after another, his two brothers entered the industry but soon disappeared. You've probably even seen one of them on screen. Let's find out who those two brothers of Akshaye Khanna are:

Akshay's brother made his debut with Aamir Khan.

Vinod Khanna has two sons, Rahul and Akshay, from his first wife, Geetanjali Khanna. Rahul Khanna is older than Akshay and entered the film industry before him. 54-year-old Rahul Khanna made his Bollywood debut in 1999 with Deepa Mehta's film "Arth," starring Aamir Khan. Rahul also received awards for his performance in "Arth" for his male debut.

After this, his career seemed to take off. He starred in Wake Up Sid with Ranbir Kapoor. He then appeared in films like Elaan and Raqeeb, but soon disappeared from the screen. His career took a break after 2014's Fireflies. He appeared in Yami Gautam's 2003 film "Lost," but since then, he has disappeared from the screen.

Step brother got support from Bhansali

On one hand, Rahul Khanna did not get many films and could not become a hero of mainstream cinema, while on the other hand, Akshay Khanna's younger step brother and Vinod Khanna's second wife Kavita's son Sakshi Khanna has also not been able to leave any big mark in Bollywood at the age of 34.

Born in 1991, Sakshi Khanna worked as an assistant director on Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film "Bajirao Mastani." He also worked as an assistant on Milan Luthria's film "Once Upon a Time in Mumbai Dobaara," but even after both these films, he failed to establish a significant presence in Bollywood. Of the three brothers, the most prominent in the acting world today is Vinod Khanna's son, Akshay Khanna.
