There's some significant news for LPG customers. The deadline for Aadhaar-based LPG e-KYC has been extended. The previous deadline for completing e-KYC was August 16, 2026, but it has now been extended to August 23, 2026.
This means that those who haven't yet completed their e-KYC need not worry about their gas connection being immediately suspended. However, it's also not wise to ignore the new deadline. According to reports, failing to complete e-KYC could impact LPG subsidies and domestic cylinders, while in some cases, the risk of connection suspension has also been reported.
So, if you haven't already completed your LPG e-KYC, complete it before August 23. Technical issues have caused problems for many consumers, so it's best to complete the process as soon as possible rather than waiting until the last day.
What is the new date?
LPG companies have been repeatedly urging customers to complete their e-KYC. The deadline for this was set for August 16, 2026. However, due to Independence Day and holidays, many customers were unable to complete their KYC on time. As a result, the deadline has been extended to August 23, providing relief to those customers.
Will the gas connection be cut?
The biggest question is: will gas connections be cut if e-KYC isn't completed by August 23rd? This won't happen. If e-KYC isn't completed, cylinders won't be available at the domestic rate. This means that those who don't have KYC will receive higher prices for their gas cylinders.
