LPG e-KYC Deadline Extended: Gas Cylinder Customers Get More Time, Know What You Must Do

LPG consumers across India have received an important update regarding Aadhaar-based e-KYC. The deadline for completing the verification, which was initially set for August 16, has reportedly been extended to August 23. Consumers who have not completed the process should take note of the revised timeline.
The e-KYC process is particularly important for customers who want to avoid possible disruption to LPG-related services and government benefits. The requirement applies across major LPG providers, including Indane, Bharatgas and HP Gas.
What Happens If You Have Not Completed e-KYC?
Customers who have not completed the verification by the earlier deadline do not necessarily lose their LPG connection immediately. However, failure to complete the process could eventually affect access to certain benefits or result in temporary suspension of services, particularly where subsidy-related eligibility is involved.
Therefore, customers who have not yet completed their verification should not ignore the updated deadline.
How Can You Complete LPG e-KYC?
Consumers can generally complete the process through their LPG company's official digital channels or by visiting their gas agency.
For digital verification, customers may be required to use their LPG provider's official app along with Aadhaar-based facial authentication. The process can involve an Aadhaar face-verification application for completing the identity check.
Customers can also visit their nearest LPG distributor if they prefer to complete the verification offline.
Which LPG Customers Should Pay Attention?
The update is relevant to domestic LPG consumers, with the verification being particularly important for beneficiaries receiving government-linked LPG benefits.
Customers under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana should pay special attention because their access to applicable benefits can depend on completing required verification processes. The government describes PMUY as a scheme providing LPG connections to eligible women from poor households.
Don't Wait Until the Last Day
With the revised deadline reportedly extending to August 23, customers still have some time to complete their verification. However, completing e-KYC early can help avoid last-minute problems with authentication, mobile connectivity or visits to a crowded gas agency.
If you have not completed LPG e-KYC yet, check your LPG provider's official app or contact your distributor and complete the process as soon as possible.
