Mahabharata: Why didn't Draupadi's sari end during her disrobing? These 3 reasons will astonish you!

Draupadi Cheer Haran Facts: According to the Mahabharata, when Dushasan was disrobing Draupadi in full assembly, and even the Pandavas and great warriors like Bhishma Pitamah remained silent, Draupadi's sari seemed endless. But do you know the reason behind this miracle? Let's learn about this mystery related to the disrobing.

Mahabharata Cheer Haran Facts: The scriptures of Sanatan Dharma describe the four pillars of religion: truth, kindness, austerity, and charity. According to the scriptures, giving charity in Kaliyuga is extremely fruitful. The Uttarakanda of Shri Ramcharitmanas also states that in Kaliyuga, no matter how charity is done, it brings good fortune to the donor. The importance of charity can be gauged from Draupadi's disrobing. It is said that Lord Krishna saved Draupadi's honour, but few people know that Draupadi's sari's eternity was due to two great virtuous deeds. So, let's find out why Draupadi's sari didn't end during the disrobing and what the main reason behind it was.

Mahatma had given a special boon to Draupadi

According to legend, Draupadi was bathing in the Ganges. A saint was also bathing nearby, whose loincloth was swept away in the river. Unable to emerge from the water, Draupadi hid in the bushes to save his honor. Seeing his plight, Draupadi unhesitatingly tore a corner of her precious sari and threw it into the water. The saint, having saved her honor with that cloth, pleased, blessed her, "Daughter! When the time comes, God will surely honor your donation of this cloth."

Lord Krishna's blessings became a shield for Draupadi.

The second story involves Lord Krishna and the killing of Shishupal. When Krishna killed Shishupal with the Sudarshan Chakra, the impact injured his finger and it began bleeding. Setting aside royal pomp and circumstance and the hesitation of others, Draupadi immediately tore the pallu of her sari and bandaged Krishna's finger. Lord Krishna then told Draupadi that he would repay her every single thread of silk when the time came.

Old virtue came in handy in times of crisis

When Draupadi helplessly called out to Krishna in the assembly of Hastinapur, that very piece of sari, by the grace of God, transformed into a sari as large as a mountain. The Mahatma's blessing, and the piece of cloth given to Krishna, became Draupadi's everlasting shield.
