One simple remedy is lemon water. Mix the juice of half a lemon in about 100 ml of lukewarm water. Add a pinch of salt and a small amount of jaggery. Drink it slowly before meals. This drink may help with hydration, electrolyte balance and nerve function, which can be helpful for some migraine sufferers.
Soaked raisins
Soak five raisins in water overnight. In the morning, chew and eat the raisins on an empty stomach, but avoid drinking the leftover soaking water. This practice may help maintain hydration and mineral balance and is often considered useful for people who experience migraines early in the day.
Migraine relief potli
Another remedy suggested by Shweta Shah is a natural heat pack, or potli, which may help ease sinus pressure, stress-related headaches and migraine pain. Lightly roast dry ginger powder, rock salt, cloves, carom seeds and basil leaves. Wrap them in a thin cotton cloth to form a small bundle. Gently press this warm pack on the forehead, the back of the neck and around the sinus area for soothing relief.
