When the idol of Hanumanji was installed in Salasar Balaji temple. In the history of Salasar Balaji temple, Lord Hanuman appeared here in a miraculous form. The story behind this is also very interesting. The incident is of 1754 when a Jat farmer was plowing his field in Asota village of Nagpur district. Then his plow collided with a sharp rocky object. He dug and saw that there was a stone here. He cleaned the stone with his finger and saw that the image of Lord Balaji was made on the stone. At the same time, the Jat's wife came with food, she also cleaned the idol with her sari and both the couple bowed to the stone. Then the farmer offered the first part of millet churma to Balaji. From the history of Salasar Balaji temple till now, only millet churma is served in Salasar Balaji temple.

The news of the appearance of the idol reached the entire village including the Thakur of the village. One night Balaji asked the Thakur of Asota in a dream to take the idol to Salasar. On the other hand, a Hanuman devotee told Maharaj Mohandas of Salasar in a dream that no one can stop the bullock cart carrying the idol to Salasar. Wherever the bullock cart stops on its own, his idol should be installed there. After these orders received in the dream, the idol of Lord Salasar Balaji was installed at the present place.
