Audi is preparing to introduce the new-generation Q3 in India, bringing a fresh design, updated technology and a more modern cabin to its popular luxury SUV. The new model is scheduled to launch in the country on October 16, 2026.

The India-spec Q3 was unveiled in August, and it is expected to become the first model from Audi's latest generation of vehicles to arrive in the Indian market. The SUV will replace the current-generation Q3, which has been on sale in India for almost four years.

Audi is expected to assemble the new Q3 locally, while bookings have already opened. Here's what you can expect from the upcoming luxury SUV.

Petrol Engine Expected, Diesel Could Be Dropped

Unlike the outgoing model, the new Q3 is expected to be offered in India with a petrol-only powertrain.

The SUV is likely to get a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing approximately 204 hp and 320 Nm of torque. Audi has yet to officially confirm the India-spec power and torque figures.

The engine is expected to be paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT) and Audi's Quattro all-wheel-drive system. The Quattro setup is expected to be available across the Q3 range.

A More Aggressive New Design

The new-generation Q3 gets a substantial exterior makeover compared with the outgoing model.

At the front, the SUV features split LED headlamps and adjustable daytime running lights, giving it a sharper and more aggressive appearance. The side profile gets body-coloured cladding, a chrome beltline and 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels.

At the rear, split tail-lamps, an illuminated Audi logo and a sporty spoiler add to the SUV's premium appearance.

More Modern Cabin and New Technology

Audi has also redesigned the Q3's interior with a more contemporary dashboard layout.

The cabin is expected to feature a dual-screen setup, with a digital instrument cluster for the driver and a separate infotainment display.

Other expected features include a premium Sonos sound system, panoramic sunroof, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual-zone climate control and a 360-degree camera.

The new steering wheel and repositioned gear selector also give the cabin a more modern appearance.

New Q3 Could Cost Around ₹60 Lakh

The new-generation Q3 is expected to be more expensive than the outgoing model.

The current Q3 is priced between approximately ₹43.67 lakh and ₹53 lakh (ex-showroom). The new model is expected to start at around ₹55 lakh, with the top variant potentially reaching approximately ₹60 lakh (ex-showroom).

Audi has yet to announce the official prices.

These Luxury SUVs Will Be Its Rivals

Once launched, the new Audi Q3 will compete against premium compact SUVs such as the BMW X1, Mercedes-Benz GLA and MINI Countryman.

With its new design, petrol engine, Quattro all-wheel drive and upgraded technology, the new Q3 could give Audi a stronger presence in India's luxury SUV segment.

The big question now is whether its higher price tag will justify the new design, features and performance.
