Pakistan Clinches ODI Series Against South Africa with Dominant Spin Bowling and Strong Batting

Pakistan won the ODI series against South Africa 2-1, sealing victory in the final match at Faisalabad by 7 wickets in a commanding performance. Batting first, South Africa was bundled out for a modest 143 runs, largely due to the devastating spin bowling of Abrar Ahmed, who took 4 wickets for 27 runs. His performance, especially in the middle overs, triggered a collapse where South Africa lost 8 wickets for just 37 runs.

Despite losing opener Fakhar Zaman early, Pakistan’s chase was anchored by a swift half-century from Saim Ayub, who scored 77 runs. Although star batsman Babar Azam struggled again and was run out after scoring 27, contributions from former captain Mohammad Rizwan (32 not out) and Salman Agha (5 not out) ensured a comfortable victory within 25.1 overs.

South Africa had rested several senior players ahead of their upcoming Test series against India, including captain Temba Bavuma, which impacted their team balance. Pakistan, on the other hand, won the first ODI, lost the second, and triumphed decisively in the third to claim the series. This victory also marked Shaheen Shah Afridi’s first ODI series win as the Pakistan captain.

Abrar Ahmed’s spin bowling was the standout feature, dismantling the South African batting lineup and setting up the win, while Saim Ayub’s aggressive batting sealed the game quickly.
