Prabhas fans have been eagerly waiting for Fauji, one of the superstar's much-anticipated upcoming films. The movie was reportedly being lined up for a theatrical release on December 3, 2026, but fresh reports suggest audiences may have to wait a little longer.
According to the latest buzz, the makers could consider moving Fauji from December 2026 to the Sankranti 2027 period. If that happens, however, Prabhas may still have to face a major box-office battle, with Chiranjeevi's Kaaka also being linked to the festive release window.
No official confirmation of a revised release date has been mentioned yet, so the reported postponement should currently be treated as speculation.
Is ‘Fauji’ Moving From December 2026 to 2027?
Fauji was reportedly planned for a worldwide theatrical release on December 3, 2026. However, several other South Indian films are now being discussed for release around the same period.
Reports suggest that Vishwak Sen's Legacy could arrive in cinemas on December 4. Naga Chaitanya's pan-India film Vrishkarma and Dulquer Salmaan's Sri Sri are also reportedly considering December 3-4 for their theatrical releases.
With multiple films potentially competing for screens and audiences during the same weekend, speculation has emerged that the makers of Fauji could avoid the crowded December window.
Why Could ‘Fauji’ Be Postponed?
A major box-office clash can affect screen allocation, show timings and the opening-weekend business of even highly anticipated films.
Prabhas commands a massive pan-India following, but releasing Fauji alongside several other major projects could still divide audiences and screens.
This is reportedly one of the reasons why the Sankranti 2027 window is being considered as an alternative.
However, until the makers announce a new date, December 3 should not be considered officially cancelled based solely on these reports.
Sankranti 2027 May Bring Another Big Clash
Moving Fauji to Sankranti may solve one problem but potentially create another.
Reports suggest that Chiranjeevi's Kaaka could also arrive around the Sankranti festival in 2027. If both films eventually choose the same release period, audiences could witness a major Prabhas-versus-Chiranjeevi box-office contest.
Both stars have enormous fan bases, particularly in the Telugu-speaking states, making such a clash one of the biggest potential theatrical battles of the festive season.
For now, however, a direct clash remains dependent on the final release dates announced by the respective producers.
Prabhas and Imanvi Lead ‘Fauji’
Apart from its release-date buzz, Fauji has generated considerable interest because of its cast.
Imanvi is set to appear opposite Prabhas in the film. Mithun Chaturvedi, veteran actress Jaya Prada and Anupam Kher are also reported to be associated with the project.
With Prabhas leading the film and considerable anticipation surrounding the project, its eventual release date will be closely watched by both fans and the film industry.
Will ‘Fauji’ Release in 2026 or 2027?
At present, reports point toward the possibility of Fauji shifting from December 3, 2026 to the Sankranti 2027 period, potentially to avoid competition from several December releases.
But unless the filmmakers officially announce a postponement, fans will have to wait for confirmation.
And if Fauji does move to Sankranti and Chiranjeevi's Kaaka arrives during the same window, 2027 could begin with a massive South Indian box-office showdown.
