Preparations for a big action against Pakistan, PM Modi held a two and a half hour high level meeting with the chiefs of the three armies

The Modi government is taking strict action after the Pahalgam terror attack. Steps like suspending the Indus Water Treaty and closing the Attari-Wagah border have been taken against Pakistan. Prime Minister Modi held a high-level meeting with the Defense Minister and Army Chiefs, in which military and diplomatic options were considered.

The horrific terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir has shaken the entire country. After this cowardly attack, the Modi government at the Center is seen in action mode. The government has taken quick and tough steps against Pakistan, including suspending the Indus Water Treaty and closing the Attari-Wagah border. Now a series of high-level meetings are going on. On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held an important meeting with Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval, Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan and heads of other armed forces. At the same time, an important meeting of the CCS is also scheduled tomorrow.

According to the information, a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) is proposed tomorrow under the chairmanship of PM Modi. If sources are to be believed, the strategy of major military and diplomatic action against Pakistan is being discussed in these meetings, which will further strengthen India's zero tolerance policy against terrorism. In the meeting held at the PM's residence today, the Defense Minister, NSA and the chiefs of the three armies were present.

Preparations for final strike on Pakistan

The terrorist attack in Pahalgam's Baisaran Valley on 22 April 2025 claimed the lives of 28 people, including 25 Indians and a Nepali citizen. The responsibility for the attack has been claimed by The Resistance Front (TRF), a terrorist organization associated with Lashkar-e-Taiba, which has been found to have direct links with Pakistan. This attack has raised questions about India's security system, but the government's stand is clear—terrorists and their supporters will not be spared at any cost.

According to sources, in the recent meetings of PM Modi, all options of military action—land, water and air—have been discussed in detail. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has indicated that a befitting reply will be given to the 'forces active behind the scenes'. For this, the Indian Army has been put on high alert and search operations have been intensified in Jammu and Kashmir. A special team of NIA is engaged in unearthing the conspiracy of the attack and the terrorist network.

Preparations to surround Pakistan on diplomatic front

Apart from this, on the diplomatic front, India is also making strategies to isolate Pakistan on global forums. The Ministry of External Affairs has contacted many countries, and countries like the Netherlands have condemned the attack and expressed solidarity with India. The demand to put Pakistan in the grey list of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) is also gaining momentum. Some experts believe that India may plan a surgical strike or an even bigger operation, which will teach Pakistan a lesson for a long time.

What happened in the last CCS meeting?

Five major decisions were taken against Pakistan in the CCS meeting chaired by PM Modi on 23 April 2025, which stunned the neighboring country. The meeting, which lasted more than two and a half hours, took the historic decision to suspend the Indus Water Treaty of 1960 with immediate effect. Along with this, the Attari-Wagah border checkpost was closed, all types of visas for Pakistani citizens were canceled, and Pakistani diplomats were ordered to leave India in 48 hours. India also decided to close its embassy in Islamabad. Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri told the press conference that this attack was a conspiracy to target peaceful elections and development efforts in Jammu and Kashmir, in which cross-border terrorism has a clear role. These decisions have infuriated Pakistan, and the PMO there has called an emergency National Security Committee (NSC) meeting.
