Samsung Galaxy S27 Series May Bring Ultra's Privacy Display to More Models; New Camera Upgrade Also Tipped

Samsung's next-generation Galaxy S27 lineup is already making headlines months ahead of its expected launch. Fresh leaks suggest the company could bring one of the Galaxy S26 Ultra's standout privacy features to more models in the upcoming flagship series.

If the reports prove accurate, Samsung may equip the Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27 Plus with the Privacy Display feature, allowing users to better protect sensitive information from people looking at their screens in public places.

Privacy Display May Expand Across the Lineup

According to recent industry leaks, Samsung is considering expanding the Privacy Display technology beyond its Ultra model for the Galaxy S27 series.

The feature was previously introduced on the Galaxy S26 Ultra and is designed to reduce the visibility of on-screen content from side viewing angles. It helps protect personal information such as messages, passwords, banking details, and one-time passwords (OTPs) from people nearby.

The latest reports indicate that Samsung could offer this technology on all major Galaxy S27 models, including:

  • Samsung Galaxy S27

  • Samsung Galaxy S27+

  • Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro

  • Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra

If implemented, this would make advanced display privacy available to a wider range of flagship users.

How Privacy Display Works

Unlike traditional software-based privacy modes, Samsung's Privacy Display is said to use a hardware-assisted solution.

The system reportedly limits screen visibility by reducing viewing angles and controlling the outer display pixels. As a result, users looking directly at the screen can view content normally, while people viewing from the side may see a darkened or obscured display.

The feature is also expected to allow users to enable privacy protection only for selected content, including:

  • Password entry screens

  • Banking applications

  • OTP verification pages

  • Private chats

  • Sensitive notifications

Some reports also suggest users may be able to choose between multiple privacy levels depending on their needs.

Earlier Leak Suggested Limited Availability

The latest information differs from earlier reports, which claimed the Privacy Display feature would remain exclusive to the Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra.

If Samsung decides to include the technology across the entire lineup, it would represent a notable upgrade for the standard Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27 Plus models.

However, Samsung has not officially confirmed its plans, so the final feature list could change before launch.

Front Camera Upgrade Also Expected

Another leak suggests Samsung may improve the front-facing camera on its premium Galaxy S27 models.

The Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra are rumored to feature a 16-megapixel selfie camera, offering better image quality for selfies, video calls, and content creation.

The camera is expected to be housed inside a centrally positioned hole-punch display cutout, continuing Samsung's familiar flagship design language.

Launch Still Some Time Away

The Galaxy S27 series is not expected to arrive until 2027, meaning several hardware details could change before Samsung officially unveils the devices.

As with all early smartphone leaks, these reports should be treated as preliminary information until confirmed by the company. More details regarding the processor, cameras, battery, display, and software are likely to emerge in the months leading up to the official launch.
