In a significant change ahead of the Ranji Trophy 2025-26 season, Mumbai's team will see the inclusion of all-rounder Shivam Dube in their three-day practice match against Maharashtra from October 7 to 9, held at the MCA Stadium in Gahunje, Pune. Dube, a key performer in India's recent Asia Cup victory, will be looking to showcase his skills once more.
Interestingly, Suryakumar Yadav, the captain who led India to Asia Cup glory, has been excluded from this fixture. The exact reasons for his absence remain undisclosed, but it signals a rotation or rest phase for the star batter as Mumbai prepares for the domestic season.
The match will feature top players from both sides, including Prithvi Shaw, who recently switched allegiance to Maharashtra and will face his former team. Mumbai's squad is led by Shardul Thakur following Ajinkya Rahane’s stepping down as captain earlier this year. Alongside Dube, Mumbai’s lineup includes promising talents like Tushar Deshpande, Siddhesh Lad, and Akash Anand. Maharashtra’s side boasts stars like Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ankeet Bawane (captain), and Jalaj Saxena.
