Rishabh Pant has created such a stir against England in England that his name has been recorded in the record book. The Indian wicketkeeper made many records in a match. Apart from scoring centuries in both innings of a match, he also made a special record of sixes in his name. He has the most sixes in a match in England from India. In this case, Pant has equaled the stalwarts of England.

Rishabh Pant scored 134 runs off 178 balls in the first innings of the first Test being played at Headingley, Leeds and 118 runs off 140 balls in the second innings. This left-handed wicketkeeper-batsman hit 12 fours and 6 sixes in the first innings and 15 fours and 3 sixes in the second innings. By hitting a total of nine sixes in this match played on Monday (23 June), Pant equaled the record of hitting the most sixes in a Test match played in England.
Before Pant, Andrew Flintoff (against Australia at Edgbaston in 2005) and Ben Stokes (against Australia at Lord's in 2023) also hit nine sixes in a Test match in England. Pant has hit a total of 82 sixes in 44 Test matches played so far. This player has hit the most sixes for India in the World Test Championship (WTC).

Apart from equalling the record for hitting the most sixes in a Test match played on English soil, Pant set many other records. He became the first Indian wicketkeeper-batsman to score two centuries in a Test match. Before him, only one wicketkeeper (Zimbabwe's Andy Flower) had scored two centuries in a Test match. Pant has become the seventh Indian batsman to score two centuries in a Test match after Vijay Hazare, Sunil Gavaskar (3 times), Rahul Dravid (2 times), Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane and Rohit Sharma.
