Soha Ali Khan on Her Relationship with Saif Ali Khan’s First Wife Amrita Singh: “She Did a Lot for Me”

Soha Ali Khan recently opened up about her relationship with Saif Ali Khan’s first wife, Amrita Singh, following Saif and Amrita’s divorce in 2004. The split affected not only the families but also their children, Sara Ali Khan and Ibrahim Ali Khan. Soha shared how she navigated the changes and maintained a close bond with Amrita despite the complexities.

In an interview, Soha explained that when a marriage ends, families must undergo adjustments to find new ways of relating. She described Amrita as someone who cared for her during that transitional time, taking Soha under her wing by including her in photoshoots and sharing moments like playing Scrabble together. Soha acknowledged it took time to adjust to the new family dynamics but emphasized there was a gradual compromise as the children grew older, allowing everyone to be themselves.

Reflecting on the early period after the divorce, Soha said, “When that relationship ends, you go through a process and a transition. First, you let them create their equation, and then you create yours within that. We went through that, and now I feel like there’s a compromise.” She noted that at the time of the divorce, Sara and Ibrahim were very young, which added to the emotional complexity.

Soha’s mother, Sharmila Tagore, has also spoken about the difficulty of adjusting to Saif and Amrita’s split, highlighting the pain and challenges involved but expressing that the difficult phase is now behind them.

Overall, Soha’s reflections reveal a story of respect, care, and evolving relationships amid family changes, with Amrita Singh playing a significant supportive role in Soha’s life during challenging times.
