India Squad announced for Afg Series 2026: The BCCI has announced the Indian team for the one-off Test and three ODI series against Afghanistan next month.
Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja have been rested for the Test and ODI squads, while Rishabh Pant has been stripped of the vice-captaincy, with KL Rahul taking over. Manav, Gurnur, and Harsh have been included in the Test squad, while Prince Yadav has been named in the ODI squad.
It should be noted that after the conclusion of IPL 2026, a one-off Test match between India and Afghanistan will be played at the Mullanpur Stadium in New Chandigarh from June 6th to June 10th. A three-match ODI series will be played from June 14th to June 20th.

Shubman Gill will captain the Indian team for the one-off Test against Afghanistan, with KL Rahul named as vice-captain. Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul have been selected as the openers.
Devdutt Padikkal and Shubman Gill will strengthen Team India's middle order, while Pant has been dropped. Ravindra Jadeja has been rested. Nitish Kumar Reddy and Washington Sundar have been selected as all-rounders. Kuldeep Yadav has been included as a specialist spinner. Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna have been selected as fast bowlers. Sai Sudharshan has also been selected.
Bumrah rested
Jasprit Bumrah, who has been busy playing international cricket and the IPL for quite some time, has been rested for the Test and ODI series. Bumrah has been rested keeping in mind the upcoming WTC Test series. Manav Suthar and Harpreet Brar have been included in the Test squad, while Prince Yadav and Gurnur Brar have been included in the ODI squad.

Prince Yadav was considered a strong contender before the announcement of the ODI series against Afghanistan, and he has finally been given a chance by the team management, which has rested Jasprit Bumrah. Meanwhile, Rishabh Pant has been dropped, with Shreyas Iyer named vice-captain. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have also been included in the ODI squad.
