Ahead of the ODI series against South Africa, Team India participated in a pre-series photoshoot where the players were seen in a light-hearted mood. While most players appeared energetic and playful, Rishabh Pant stood out for a hilarious reason — he looked like he had just woken up.

Pant arrives sleepy for the shoot
In the behind-the-scenes video shared by the BCCI, players including Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, and Arshdeep Singh take turns posing for the cameras. But the funniest moment came when Pant stepped in for his shot.

The photographer asked him to smile more. Pant’s instant reply: “I was sleeping… just woke up now.”
His sleepy eyes made everyone laugh, and it was clear he wasn’t fully alert yet.

Meanwhile, Arshdeep Singh was full of energy and humor. After his photos were taken, he jokingly said, “If the picture isn’t good, click it again.” Virat Kohli, as usual, posed professionally and wrapped up quickly. Rohit Sharma, on the other hand, guided the photographer about which angles to capture first.

Series win now crucial for India
Fun aside, the ODI series is extremely important for Team India. After a 0–2 Test series loss to South Africa, head coach Gautam Gambhir has faced harsh criticism. India also lost their previous ODI series against Australia. Another series defeat could intensify pressure on both the coaching staff and the team. India will be desperate to begin this ODI series on a strong note.
