A heartbreaking incident has come to light from Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra, which has shocked everyone. Here an innocent 10-year-old girl committed suicide just because she was not allowed to watch her favourite TV channel.
What happened?
The incident took place in Bodena village of Korchi taluka of Gadchiroli district. On the morning of May 22, there was a minor quarrel between two sisters over the TV at home. 12-year-old Sandhya and 10-year-old Sonali were watching TV with their younger brother Saurabh. During this time, Sonali wanted to watch her favorite channel, but the elder sister kept the remote with herself and refused to change the channel. The two sisters started arguing over this.
After this fight over
the remote, Sonali got angry and went behind the house and hanged herself from a tree. By the time the family members came to know, it was too late. Sonali's death has sent a wave of mourning across the village.
The girl
Sonali, her sister Sandhya and brother Saurabh studied in an ashram school in Gondia district and returned to their village for the summer vacation. Their father had already passed away and the mother was single-handedly raising the four children.
Police investigation continues
Korchi police reached the spot as soon as the information about the incident was received. Police inspector Shailesh Thackeray and his team made a panchnama of the spot and the body has been sent for post-mortem. Police is investigating the case.
