Big news has arrived regarding airline fares. The news is that under new rules, the central government will no longer directly control airline fares. According to reports, sources have indicated that airlines will be able to set fares based on demand and available seats.
However, in an emergency, the central government will have the authority to set fares so that passengers don't have to pay more. Under the new rules, airlines must provide flight fare information to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) one month in advance.
After posting the information on the website, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) will monitor the airlines to ensure that no airlines charge fares above the prescribed limit. Previously, the central government informed the Supreme Court that new rules would be implemented within two weeks to curb arbitrary airline fares.
