For decades, the environmental conversation around plastic pollution focused on what we could see: plastic bags choking marine life, floating garbage patches in the Pacific, and landfills overflowing with single-use water bottles. But in recent years, scientists have shifted their focus to an invisible, far more intimate threat: microplastics.
Microplastics—microscopic plastic fragments measuring less than 5 millimeters in size—have already been detected in human blood, lung tissue, and the placenta. Practical Steps to Reduce Your Daily Ingestion
While it is currently impossible to avoid microplastics entirely in the modern world, you can drastically lower your daily body burden by altering a few everyday habits:
The Microwave Rule: Never heat food or liquids in plastic containers, even if they are labeled "microwave safe." High heat aggressively accelerates the structural breakdown of polymers, releasing billions of microplastics directly into your food. Switch completely to glass or ceramic dishware for heating.

Filter Your Water: Invest in a high-quality water filtration system (such as reverse osmosis or solid carbon block filters) certified to capture microscopic sediments and micro-particles.
