Almost every player of Team India performed well in the Lord's Test match but ultimately lost. Now the question is whether Team India will play with the same playing eleven for the fourth Test match in Manchester. Especially when the sword of being dropped is hanging over one player.
Team India, which registered a historic win at Edgbaston, could not repeat that success at Lord's. In the third match of the Test series against England, Team India, captained by Shubman Gill, had to face defeat by 22 runs. With this defeat, Team India fell behind 1-2 in the Test series. The next match of the series will be played in Manchester and after the result of the Lord's Test, it is clear that some players will not be able to play in this match and star fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah can also be among them.
In the third match of the Test series at Lord's, Team India gave a tough fight to England but had to face defeat on the last day of the match. In this match, almost every player of Team India performed well, but still at least 3 players may have to sit out of the next Test match. One big name in this is Bumrah, whose decision can be taken keeping in mind the workload management. Apart from these, two players can be Karun Nair and Washington Sundar.
Is Karun Nair's journey over?
First of all, let's talk about Karun Nair, who made a comeback in Team India through this series after 8 years. In such a situation, all eyes were on him to see how he performed in this series. But Karun Nair disappointed in every match from Leeds to Lord's. Even Sai Sudarshan, who made his debut in the first Test, was dropped, and Karun was given a chance in the second and third Tests as well, but despite getting starts in almost every innings, Nair could not convert them into a big innings. In this series, Nair was the only batsman from Team India's top order who did not score a half-century. His highest score was 40 runs, which came in the first innings of the Lord's Test. Nair scored only 131 runs in 6 innings of 3 Tests.
Will Bumrah get rest?
Nair's exclusion from the next Test seems almost certain, but eyes will also be on Bumrah. It was announced before the Test series that Bumrah would play only 3 Tests in this series. Bumrah was part of the team in Leeds and Lord's, while he was given rest from the Edgbaston Test. In such a situation, the question now is whether Team India gives him rest in the next Test as well.? There is a 9-day break in the next Test. In such a situation, eyes will be on whether Team India will use this break for their workload management and field him in Manchester or not. If Gautam Gambhir and captain Shubman Gill stick to the already decided formula, then Bumrah can be given rest.
Despite the wicket, Sundar's place is in question
After the Edgbaston Test, questions were raised on the selection of Washington Sundar at Lord's as well. The question was whether the main spinner Kuldeep Yadav should have been selected in his place? Sundar could not do much in Edgbaston, but in the second innings of the Lord's Test, he wreaked havoc with his bowling and made 4 England batsmen his victims. But he could not do anything special in batting in both innings. In such a situation, whether Team India will give a chance to Kuldeep or any fourth pacer as a regular spinner in his place or not, it will be worth watching.
