They hope to play in the 2027 World Cup. Gambhir said that the 50-over World Cup is two and a half years away, and the most important thing is to focus on the present. He also said that Kohli and Sharma are experienced players and their experience will be very useful for the team in the series against Australia.

What did he say on the return of Rohit and Virat?

Gambhir said, "I think it's very important to stay in the present. That's something that's very important." He further added, "Clearly they are quality players and their experience will be valuable in Australia. Hopefully, both of them will have a successful tour and more importantly, as a team, we will have a successful series."

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are part of India's 15-member ODI squad that will play a three-match series against Australia on October 19, 23, and 25. New Test captain Shubman Gill will lead the team in this series. This will be Gill's first assignment as a full-time captain in the 50-over format.

Great victory for Team India

Earlier, India won the second Test against West Indies by 7 wickets to clinch the series 2-0. KL Rahul scored an unbeaten 58. India needed 121 runs to win when play began on the fourth day at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. India achieved the target by losing two wickets in the first session. West Indies captain Roston Chase dismissed Sai Sudharshan for 39 and captain Shubman Gill for 13 with his off-spin. Rahul hit the winning boundary and India celebrated the victory. West Indies had tried to make a comeback after being forced to follow-on.
