Kartik Aaryan is gearing up for another big-screen release, but this time the challenge ahead is tougher than ever. Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar, which released in early December, is already dominating the box office. Amid this strong wave, Kartik Aaryan is bringing his next romantic film Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri to theatres on December 25. The trailer of the film has now been released, and it has sparked mixed but curious reactions from the audience.
After making a solid comeback with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 during Diwali 2024, Kartik is returning with a Karan Johar-backed project directed by Sameer Vidwans. This time, he is paired opposite Ananya Panday, and their on-screen chemistry has become one of the biggest talking points of the trailer.
What does the trailer show?
The trailer opens with a thoughtful dialogue: “Some say think about the future, some say live in the past, I believe in living in the moment.” From there, it introduces the story of Ray and Rumi, two individuals who don’t fall in love instantly. Instead, destiny keeps bringing them face to face, even when they try to avoid each other.
The trailer hints at an “incomplete love story,” filled with coincidences, emotional confusion, and moments of hesitation. Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday look comfortable together, and their pairing feels fresh on screen.
Kartik’s humour wins again
As expected, Kartik Aaryan’s biggest strength in the trailer is his humour. His comic timing stands out, and he knows exactly when to lighten the mood. A particular laugh around the 1-minute-15-second mark caught viewers’ attention, with many saying it reminded them of Akshay Kumar’s style. Social media reactions were quick to draw comparisons, with comments like “Akshay-Akshay” trending among fans.
Ananya Panday’s performance appears more restrained and mature compared to her earlier roles, adding some emotional depth. However, many viewers feel the trailer, while pleasant, lacks the punch needed to create massive buzz.
Can it stand against Dhurandhar?
While Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri seems like a soft, feel-good romantic drama, its real test will be at the box office. Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar continues to roar strongly, and competing with such momentum won’t be easy.
