Union Minister Nitin Gadkari Honored with Doctorate Degree by Graphic Era University

June 3, 2025 | Dehradun – Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, has been conferred with the honorary degree of Doctor of Science (D.Sc.) by Graphic Era Deemed University in Dehradun. The honor was presented during the university’s 12th convocation ceremony, held on Tuesday.

The prestigious ceremony was attended by Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, State Education Minister Dhan Singh Rawat, and NITI Aayog member Dr. VK Saraswat, who is also the Chancellor of the university.

🎓 Convocation Highlights: Over 3,000 Students Awarded Degrees

The 12th convocation of Graphic Era University saw a large turnout of students and dignitaries. Here are the key highlights:

  • A total of 3,142 students received their degrees

  • 46 students were awarded gold medals

  • 44 students received bronze medals

  • 46 students were honored with silver medals

In addition, 37 PhD degrees were awarded to researchers from diverse fields such as:

  • Engineering

  • Management

  • Computer Applications

  • Biotechnology

  • Microbiology

  • Environmental Science

  • Commerce

Graduation degrees were distributed to 2,307 students, while 798 post-graduation degrees were also awarded in various disciplines.


🚀 “Youth Should Become Job Providers,” Says CM Dhami

During the ceremony, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami emphasized the importance of youth empowerment through innovation and entrepreneurship. He said:

“Our aim is to prepare the youth not just to seek jobs but to create them. Incubation centers have been established across the state to promote startups and innovation.”

CM Dhami also highlighted the state’s push for modern education, noting that institutions in Uttarakhand are incorporating advanced courses such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Big Data, in alignment with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
