Indian Under-19 star Vaibhav Suryavanshi faced a unique challenge during India’s youth tour of Australia. Rajasthan Royals’ Director of High Performance, Zubin Bharucha, revealed that Vaibhav called him at 5 a.m. from Brisbane, video-calling while frustrated that he couldn’t see the ball clearly on the field. Vaibhav pointed out the stadium lights from four separate pillars—much brighter than IPL stadiums with single poles—making it difficult for him to track the ball.

Despite this initial struggle, Vaibhav quickly turned things around. He went on to hit 18 sixes on the Australia tour, including a memorable century. On September 24, he scored a match-winning 70 runs in Brisbane, followed by an 86-ball 113 in the first Youth Test. His performance impressed many, including Bharucha, who strongly advocates for Vaibhav’s fast-tracking into the India A team, citing his immense talent and calm under pressure.
