Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s Uncle Clears UPSC, Secures 102nd Rank to Become IPS Officer

In a proud moment for the family of young cricketer Vaibhav Suryavanshi, his maternal uncle Abhishek Chauhan has cleared the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) examination and secured the 102nd rank, earning a place in the Indian Police Service (IPS).
The UPSC results were declared on March 6, and Chauhan achieved this milestone in his very first attempt, drawing widespread praise in his hometown and across the district.
Academic Success in the Family
Abhishek Chauhan is the son of Abhay Kumar Singh and Anuradha Rajput, residents of Rajajan village in the Samastipur district of Bihar. His father currently serves as the Registrar at Nalanda Open University.
Chauhan appeared for the UPSC examination in 2025, successfully cleared the preliminary and main examinations, and later qualified in the 2026 interview stage, securing his place in the IPS.
Family Celebrates the Achievement
The news of Chauhan’s success has brought joy across the district, especially in Dalsinghsarai, his maternal hometown.
Sanjeev Suryavanshi, father of Vaibhav Suryavanshi, shared the news on social media and described his brother-in-law’s achievement as a moment of pride for the entire family.
Rising Star on the Cricket Field
While Abhishek Chauhan has made a mark in academics, his nephew Vaibhav Suryavanshi has been gaining attention in cricket over the past year.
The young cricketer is currently participating in the DY Patil T20 Tournament and is expected to feature in Indian Premier League 2026 in the near future.
