Initially, news spread like wildfire on social media that 30-year-old Rani Rajput (or Reena), a resident of Auraiya, had fallen in love with her friend Radha's 75-year-old father, Ramsuggar. Reels of their haldi, engagement, and wedding ceremonies quickly went viral online, claiming they were about to get married.

The young woman, Rani, released another video clarifying that she is no longer married to the 75-year-old man and that they have "broken up." She also revealed that her husband, who had left her, has returned.

Many users on Twitter, including Sachin Gupta, exposed the entire drama as being scripted. They pointed out that Rani already has a husband and two children, and that such a second marriage without  a divorce was out of the question. The way the reels and videos of the entire incident were being edited clearly indicated that it was all a mere drama designed to garner likes, views, and followers.

The truth of the elderly man himself came to light

Following the controversy, 75-year-old Ramsuggar himself released a video confirming that there was no romantic relationship or marriage between him and the woman. He admitted that the entire drama was staged solely to gain social media fame and internet popularity.
