Meta has introduced a username feature similar to Instagram, which will ensure user privacy.
Username feature will help in maintaining privacy
This new feature will allow users to create a unique username for their account. After that, they will be able to chat using only their username instead of sharing their mobile number. This will especially benefit those who prefer not to share their personal information. Many people will be able to maintain their privacy.
This feature will soon be available on everyone's mobile.
According to a report, WhatsApp has currently rolled out this feature to a select few users. In the coming weeks, this feature will be available on all WhatsApp users' mobile phones. To do this, you'll need to update your WhatsApp account by visiting the Play Store. Gradually, this feature will appear on everyone's WhatsApp account. Based on this, you'll be able to create a username and chat with your loved ones.
How to create a username?
If you see this feature in your WhatsApp, you can easily set your username. To do this, go to your WhatsApp profile settings. There, you'll see the option to create a username. After that, you can set your username by following the steps. It's essential to use at least one letter to create a username. Only lowercase letters, numbers, dots, and dashes are allowed.
Usernames must be at least 3 to 35 characters long. However, they cannot begin with "www." Therefore, dot com or dot net cannot be used after the name. This new feature was provided by beta tracker wabetainfo.
