Wife, Lover, and a Trail of Death: Shocking Rise in Husband Murders in 2025

In a chilling shift from the typical crime narrative, 2025 has seen a spike in wives turning murderers, plotting with their lovers to eliminate their husbands. The most recent case—the murder of Indore’s Raja Raghuvanshi—is grabbing headlines for its shocking betrayal and brutality.

Indore Honeymoon Turns Into Murder Plot

Raja Raghuvanshi and his wife Sonam had gone to Meghalaya for their honeymoon. But on June 2, Raja's body was found in a deep gorge near Veisawdong waterfall. Sonam was missing. Nine days later, she was tracked down in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh. Investigations revealed a chilling conspiracy: Sonam and her lover Raj Kushwaha plotted the murder. Police have arrested four people so far.

But Raja's case isn't isolated. Let’s take a look at similar horrifying incidents that have surfaced this year:

1. Saurabh Murder Case, Meerut: Hidden in a Drum

In March 2025, Muskan murdered her husband Saurabh with her lover Sahil. They chopped his body, stuffed it into a blue plastic drum with cement, and went on a trip as if nothing had happened. The murder came to light when they returned and neighbors raised suspicion.

2. Amit Kumar Case: Snake Bite Cover-Up

Amit Kumar of Meerut was strangled to death by his wife Ravita and her lover Amardeep. They tried to cover it up by placing a snake near the body to make it look like a natural death. The truth came out in the postmortem report.

3. Deepak Kumar Case, Bijnor: The Heart Attack Lie

Railway employee Deepak Kumar died under suspicious circumstances. His wife Shivani claimed it was a heart attack, but she resisted the postmortem. His family insisted, and the autopsy revealed he had been strangled. Shivani was arrested.

4. Makarendra Case, Bijnor: Holi Turns Bloody

On Holi (March 13), Makarendra went to get medicine for his wife Parul, but was killed by her lover Vineet. His body was found two days later in Amroha. Parul had plotted the murder after her affair was discovered.

5. Naushad Case, Deoria: A Return from Saudi Ends in Death

Naushad came back from Saudi Arabia in April. Within 10 days, he was murdered by his wife and her nephew, with whom she was having an affair. His body was packed in a trolley bag and dumped 60 km away.

6. Farooq Case, Bijnor: Shot by Wife’s Lover

Another Saudi returnee, Farooq, was killed in April. Upon discovering his wife Amreen’s affair with a man named Meherban, he confronted her. Meherban and his friend Umar allegedly shot Farooq dead.

A Disturbing Trend

These cases highlight a disturbing pattern of betrayal and violence in domestic relationships. Affairs turning into deadly conspiracies, and marriages ending in murder, raise serious concerns about emotional breakdowns, lack of support systems, and growing ease in executing violent plots.

As shocking as these cases are, they underline the importance of mental health awareness, relationship counseling, and swift legal action to deter such tragedies in the future.
