Israel may soon launch an operation in Iran. Along with this, the US feels that Iran may retaliate on some American sites in neighboring Iraq. Therefore, the US has advised some of its citizens to leave the area.

According to a CBS News report, the US has ordered non-emergency government officials to leave Iraq given the increased tension. Meanwhile, Donald Trump's Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff is planning to meet Iran in the coming days for the sixth round of talks on the country's nuclear program.
Trump's statement
Trump, while attending a performance of Les Miserables at the Kennedy Center on Thursday, said that American military personnel are being pulled out of some countries in the Middle East given the threat. Trump's statement comes after the failed round of US talks with Iran. He said, "Iran cannot have nuclear weapons. We will not allow it."
According to the Times of Israel, the US State Department and the military said on Wednesday that people who are not needed in the Middle East are being sent back because of the potential for regional unrest, as tensions rise amid deteriorating nuclear talks with neighboring Iran.
US State Department decree
"President Donald Trump is committed to keeping Americans safe at home and abroad. We are constantly assessing the status of appropriate personnel at all of our embassies," a State Department official told the Times of Israel.
According to the Times of Israel, the US State Department has allowed non-essential personnel and family members to leave Bahrain and Kuwait, giving them the choice of whether or not to leave the country.
