SCO Summit 2025: Prime Minister Narendra Modi's two-day visit to China for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit held in Tianjin was given a grand welcome. The Chinese government provided him with the iconic 'Hongqi L5' car, popularly known as 'Red Flag'. This is the same luxury car that President Xi Jinping uses on official visits and also used it during his meeting with PM Modi in Mahabalipuram in 2019.

Launched in 1958 by First Automotive Works (FAW), the car was made for top Communist Party leaders and is a symbol of 'Made in China'. On the other hand, Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in Tianjin in his retro-styled luxury 'Aurus' car, built by Russian company Aurus Motors and bearing a Chinese diplomatic number plate.
