Fresh revelations have surfaced in the investigation into the tragic suicide of three minor sisters who jumped to their deaths from a residential building in Bharat City Society, Ghaziabad. Police say the incident appears to be linked to prolonged family discord following their father’s third marriage.
According to investigators, the girls’ father, Chetan, had already married two women—Sujata and Hina, who are real sisters—before marrying a third woman, Tina, also known as Nazneen. Police revealed that Chetan initially married Sujata and later married her sister Hina as well.
Facing financial difficulties, Chetan later began working as a credit card agent for banks. During this period, he came into contact with Tina, a Class 12 graduate, whom he hired to assist with his work. Their relationship reportedly developed into a romantic one, and after Tina became pregnant, Chetan married her through a court procedure.
How Chetan Convinced His First Two Wives
Police say Chetan’s third marriage caused severe tension in the household, prompting Sujata and Hina to leave the home in protest. During questioning, investigators learned that Chetan later persuaded the two women to return by claiming that their limited education affected their memory and that Tina’s education was necessary for the children’s proper upbringing. Following this, both wives reportedly agreed to return.
‘Father Is Not Letting Us Go to Korea’
Further disturbing details emerged during police questioning of the girls’ private tutor. The teacher stated that the sisters had told her they were adopted and expressed a strong desire to travel to South Korea, influenced by Korean culture. However, their father allegedly refused to allow this.
The tutor also revealed that the girls struggled academically, were unable to read properly, and had weak mathematical skills. Due to the lack of a supportive learning environment at home, the teacher returned the advance tuition fees.
Financial Losses Under Investigation
Police said Chetan was financially stable before the COVID-19 pandemic, earning income through property dealings and vehicle trading. However, he reportedly incurred heavy losses in the stock market and foreign exchange trading in recent years. Authorities are now examining his three bank accounts to determine whether financial stress and domestic unrest played a role in the tragic incident.
The investigation is ongoing as police attempt to piece together the circumstances that led to the deaths of the three sisters.
