IED Blast Derails Six Coaches of Jaffar Express in Pakistan; Several Injured, BRG Claims Responsibility

The Jaffar Express train, traveling from Peshawar to Quetta, was attacked near Sultan Kot in Pakistan by an improvised explosive device implanted on the railway track. The powerful blast caused at least six coaches to derail and injured several passengers. The Baloch Republican Guards (BRG), a Baloch militant group, claimed responsibility for the attack, stating it targeted Pakistani army personnel traveling on the train. They declared that such attacks will continue until Balochistan achieves independence.

Rescue operations are underway as security forces and relief teams respond to the incident. No official death toll has been confirmed yet, though several injuries have been reported. This attack adds to a series of assaults on the Jaffar Express in recent months, which faced a deadly hijacking in March killing over 20 people, and multiple bombings and derailments throughout the year.

These repeated attacks underscore the ongoing insurgency in Pakistan's Balochistan region, where militant groups frequently target transportation routes and military personnel. Authorities continue to investigate and strengthen security measures to protect civilians and infrastructure in this volatile area.
