Amitabh Bachchan said, "At that time I had no idea that it would prove to be a milestone for Indian cinema. The dramatic transformation from being declared a failure to its record-breaking box office run was an emotional rollercoaster for all of us... Dharmendra called 'Sholay' the 8th wonder of the world. He said, "I am very happy to hear that the film is being released in an uncut version and I am sure it will be as successful as it was 50 years ago. Who can forget Salim-Javed's dialogues and Ramesh Sippy's direction? Many scenes have been recorded in the history of Indian cinema and every character became a star. But the real hero was Sikka... My favorite scenes were the tank scene, the temple scene and many other scenes but the most powerful scene I think is Jai's death, which is still etched in my mind."
