Your Aadhaar card has become a vital document these days. But now, a major change has come. UIDAI issued a letter stating that your Aadhaar card should not be considered proof of your date of birth. Your Aadhaar card can prove your identity, but not your date of birth.

What is being reported:
According to media reports, the Unique Identification Authority of India has clarified that Aadhaar card is a valid proof of identity through authentication, but it should not be considered as proof of date of birth, even if it contains information about the date of birth.

Why is it not being accepted?
UIDAI stated that the purpose of Aadhaar is to establish identity through authentication, not to provide a person's date of birth. It further stated that the date of birth on the Aadhaar card is recorded based on the information provided by the user during enrollment or update.
