Responding to media questions, CM Fadnavis made it clear that action will be taken. He emphasized that no formal complaint is necessary for the police to initiate an investigation. “Police should act on their own. This is a serious issue,” he said, stressing the need for accountability even among public representatives.

No Apology, No Regret from the MLA

Despite facing backlash, MLA Sanjay Gaikwad remains unapologetic. When asked if he would say sorry, he flatly refused. "I will not apologize. I have no regrets," he said. Gaikwad claimed that the food was not just stale but dangerously bad, and he was on the verge of “consuming poison.”

CM and Deputy CM Condemn the Incident

Condemning the incident, CM Fadnavis said such behavior tarnishes the image of all MLAs and sends a damaging message to the public. “This is not acceptable from someone holding public office,” he added.

Deputy CM Eknath Shinde, while acknowledging that the food served was of poor quality, also criticized Gaikwad’s violent response. “If there’s a problem, take legal steps — physical assault cannot be justified,” Shinde said.
