After Afghanistan, Nepal Turns to India for Cricket Training Ahead of T20 World Cup Qualifiers

India continues to serve as a vital training hub for developing cricket nations. After helping Afghanistan establish a strong cricket foundation, India will now host the Nepal cricket team for a 15-day training camp ahead of the T20 World Cup Qualifiers.

Nepal to Train in Bengaluru for 15 Days

The Nepal cricket team will undergo intensive practice at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru from August 20 to September 4. This preparation comes ahead of the T20 World Cup Qualifiers scheduled for October, with matches set to take place in India and Sri Lanka.

Why is Nepal Training in India?

This initiative is part of a broader bilateral effort to foster youth engagement and cricketing ties between India and Nepal. The Indian government has given formal approval for the camp, viewing it as a way to strengthen regional ties and encourage collaboration through sports.

Not the First Time for Nepal

Interestingly, this won’t be Nepal’s first training stint in India. In August last year, the team also trained at the same facility in Bengaluru, showing a continued trust in India’s infrastructure and coaching expertise.
