After Pakistani cricketers, actors, now India's digital strike on PAK PM Shahbaz Sharif

Shehbaz Sharif YouTube channel Ban: After the digital strike on the social media accounts of many Pakistani celebrities, the Indian government blocked the official YouTube channel of Pak PM Shehbaz Sharif in India.

Shehbaz Sharif YouTube channel Ban:  After the Pahalgam terrorist attack, there is an atmosphere of tension between India and Pakistan. Meanwhile, the central government has blocked the official YouTube channel of Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in India. The Indian government has also banned the Instagram accounts of many Pakistani leaders and ministers including Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, President Asif Ali Zardari, Maryam Nawaz, Bilawal Bhutto in India.

Instagram accounts of Pak cricketers blocked in India

This step has been taken after the Indian government banned 16 major Pakistani YouTube channels. These YouTube channels used to show inflammatory and communally sensitive content as well as false and misleading videos against the Indian army and security agencies.

Earlier, the Indian government had carried out a digital strike on the social media accounts of many Pakistani celebrities, including many cricketers. On Friday (May 2, 2025), India blocked the Instagram accounts of Babar Azam, Mohammad Aamir, Naseem Shah, Shaheen Afridi, Mohammad Rizwan, Harris Rauf and Imam ul Haq in India.

Many YouTube channels were blocked due to misleading content

The platforms banned by India include the YouTube channels of Pakistan's major news channels Dawn, Sama TV, ARY News, Bol News, Raftar, Geo News and Suno News. Apart from this, the YouTube channels of journalists Irshad Bhatti, Asma Shirazi, Umar Cheema and Munib Farooq have also been banned. Apart from these, YouTube handles like The Pakistan Reference, Sama Sports, Uzair Cricket and Razi Nama have also been banned.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has vowed to give harsh punishment to those responsible for the Pahalgam terror attack. He talked about giving the biggest punishment imaginable to the terrorists and their supporters. Union Home Minister Amit Shah has also talked about killing the terrorists selectively. 

Pakistan stopped broadcasting Indian songs

Pakistan's FM radio stations stopped broadcasting Indian songs on Thursday (1 April 2025). This step has been taken amid tension between Pakistan and India over the Pahalgam terrorist attack. Indian songs, especially the songs of great singers like Lata Mangeshkar, Mohammed Rafi, Kishore Kumar and Mukesh, are popular among Pakistanis and are played daily on FM radio stations here.
