Bad news for RCB fans, no matches at Chinnaswamy Stadium; Virat Kohli's team to have two home finals

RCB Home Ground IPL 2026: Bengaluru's M Chinnaswamy Stadium will no longer be the home ground of Royal Challengers Bangalore. RCB may adopt two new grounds as their home grounds.

The M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru will no longer be the home ground of the Royal Challengers Bangalore. In IPL 2026, RCB may play its home matches at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai or the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Stadium in Raipur. In addition to RCB, the Rajasthan Royals may also change their home ground.

Royal Challengers Bangalore won the IPL 2025 title. Following that historic victory, a victory parade was scheduled for the winning team, RCB, at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. During the parade, a stampede broke out outside the stadium, resulting in the deaths of 11 people. Since that tragic incident, no high-level cricket matches have been played at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.

RCB will get 2 new home grounds!

It is reported that RCB may play five matches in Navi Mumbai in the next season of IPL 2026, while two matches could be held in Raipur. RCB management reached this conclusion after meeting with relevant officials. Following the stampede outside the Chinnaswamy Stadium last year, security concerns regarding the ground have been a constant focus of discussion. Chinnaswamy Stadium has not yet received permission to host any major-level matches.

Royal Challengers Bangalore performed exceptionally well last season. They finished second in the points table. In the final, they defeated Punjab Kings by 6 runs. This marked the first time in 18 years that RCB had won the Indian Premier League title.

Rajasthan Royals will also change their home ground.

Last year, the Rajasthan Cricket Association failed to hold elections. Following this, IPL Chairman Arun Singh Dhumal told the RCA that if it failed to hold elections, the Rajasthan Royals team would not be able to play its home matches in Jaipur.
